Jake primarily harvests wolves, coyotes, pine marten, lynx, and beavers.
On this trip, you see, hear, and learn about all these fur-bearers and more. If you look closely, you may catch a glimpse of a lynx wandering amongst the pines. Or, variously, you may witness one standing and peering at you from close proximity. Depending on the duration and time of year you choose your adventure will dictate the target species during that time. If you wish, you can have a conversation with wolves or coyotes on any given night. You will enjoy hot meals in the company of trapper log cabins along the way. Although this area is nestled up against the rugged Alberta Rocky Mountains, the passenger sleds afford a comfortable ride and allow you comfortable viewing of the beautiful sights and sounds along the way! With undulating terrain, river crossings, snow and weather conditions, this adventure will bring to you a nature experience unlike any other.
Trapping operations run year-round. Winter trapping and fur-bearer seasons run from October 1 till May 31 between zones 5 and 7 in Alberta. Animal Damage Control Beaver trapping runs from the end of April till November 1 or freeze up. Whichever comes first.

Late October till the end of February yield the largest amount of fur. Although fur take can be unpredictable at best, sometimes your best days come when you least expect. The fur-bearer species of central and western Alberta produce some of the best quality fur in the world. Trappers managing fur-bearers by species and region ensure these animal populations remain strong today and tomorrow.
One choice fur you wish to go home with will be included in your adventure package. You may purchase additional furs of your choosing as well.
