While the Registered Trapline area centres at Cadomin, Alberta, Canada and covers 3.5 townships of rugged, extreme wilderness, nestled up against the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, the Resident Trapline centres at Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Wetaskiwin being a short 30 minute drive from the Edmonton International Airport.

The Resident Trapping operation in central Alberta covers approximately 5000 square miles. While the two trapping areas are separated, a travelling day between areas includes a lot of trapping along the way. The Resident Trapping area covers mostly coyote and beaver trapping activities while the Registered Trapping area activity covers trapping for Wolves, Pine Marten, Lynx, Coyote, Fisher, Mink, Fox, Weasel, Squirrel, and Wolverine.
